There are many beautiful places to be seen in the area even if a week is usually not long enough to see them all.
I will try and do my best to advise you with tours in the area and, weather permitting, to make you spend lovely days
at the residence swimming-pool.
The "Belvedere" is situated in a very central and equidistant position from the main cities of art.
Actually, only 20 km distant there is Arezzo and its historic center ( very easy to get to ), famous for the "Giostra del
Saracino" as well as the location of many films such as "La Vita è Bella" by Roberto Benigni.
The first Sunday of the month, still in Arezzo, there is a big Antiques Fair where you can ind all sorts of things.
Only 45 km distant there is Perugia and Siena which is famous for its Piazza del Campo where, in July and August, the
traditional "Palio di Siena" takes place. Whereas 12 km away you will find Cortona with its beautiful view of the whole
Valdichiana, and its narrow streets full of typically Tuscan antique and craft shops. Besides, at the end of August,
there is the oldest tuscan antiques exhibition. About 30 km distant there is Montepulciano ( a beautiful medieval
village in the province of Sienna ) and Pienza, while if you go towards Siena you can reach a charming village
called San Gimignano, and then go further to Volterra. At a distance of 40 km there is the most important place in
Italy for the wine production :
Montalcino, with all its wineries where you can directly buy the most famous italian wines.
Moreover there are places which are very famous for their old religious tradition : from the abbey " Abbazia di San
Salvatore " to the " Abbazia di Sant' Antimo ", and up to North of Arezzo, to the sanctuary " Santuario della Verna ","
Monte Fumaiolo" and " Camaldoli ". Further South, towards Perugia you will find the lake " Lago Trasimeno " and its
three islands : Maggiore, Minore and Polvese; you can easily reach them with the boat service from Tuoro sul
Trasimeno. After Perugia there is Assisi with all its traditions connected to San Francesco and its Basilica, finally there
is Spoleto, famous for its festival " Festival dei Due Mondi ". At further distances there is Florence ( Firenze ), ( 70 km ),
Pisa and the beautiful Lucca ( 150 km ) and in the end the Eternal City, Rome, ( 160 km ), two hours by car, which
